The 63 page account presents a fascinating tale of the early
aviators and their machines, with numerous illustrations
including those of The Schmitt brothers with their Glider
at the Rutland Fairground in 1910, and the first official air
flight in Rutland in 1911 by Charles Morok.
Numerous other pictures include a flight at the Rutland Fair
in 1913; George Schmitt at the Addison County Fair in
Middlebury in 1912; and a Caribbean tour by George
Schmitt and Henry Thor in 1912.
George Schmitt’s career ended at an early age, in a fatal air
crash on September 2, 1913.
